Read NowAfter earning his Bachelor’s and LLM degrees from the University of Jordan in 2006 and 2008, respectively, Ahmad embarked on a notable legal journey with Al Tamimi & Company in 2011. His expertise spans Intellectual Property, IT, media, transactional contracts, and IP litigation, making him a key player in IP law across multiple sectors. Ahmad’s skill set extends beyond litigation to include prosecution, enforcement and strategic problem-solving, evidenced by his training of government enforcement officers in IP intricacies.
With over 15 years of experience in the Middle East, including significant work in the UAE, KSA, and other MENA regions, Ahmad has led the IP Enforcement & Litigation practice since 2017. His commitment and excellence have not only earned him the “Client Service Champion” award but also positioned him as a reliable advisor for clients’ in-house counsels.
Before joining Al Tamimi & Company, Ahmad enhanced his portfolio at prestigious law firms in the Middle East, contributing to critical local legislation in Jordan. His advisory services cover a broad spectrum, from general corporate inquiries to IP & commercial advisory works, including significant achievements in digital/online charity campaign legality in the UAE and KSA, TM prosecution, domain name transfers, IP commercial/audit transactions and innovative solutions for trademark and trade name disputes. Ahmad’s leadership in IP prosecution, enforcement and litigation has established him as a distinguished figure in the legal domain, particularly in navigating the complexities of IP law across the Middle East.
Ahmad provided legal counsel to an international FMCG company on the compliance of digital charity campaigns in the UAE and KSA, navigating complex overlapping laws. He successfully transferred various domain names to a client via WIPO complaints for trademark infringement within 12 weeks. Ahmad facilitated a seamless name change for over six restaurants through Dubai’s Economic Department, leveraging a trademark ownership complaint. He led significant raids, seizing over 7,000 counterfeit items valued at USD 10 million, establishing a precedent in the region. Ahmad won trademark cancellation cases in UAE & KSA and actioned against exclusive commercial agency rights infringements in GCC countries.
Ahmad has earned a spot on the World Trademark Review’s WTR1000 list as a top trademark professional in the UAE. Additionally, he has been acknowledged as an IP expert by Asia IP and has received recognition from IP Stars/Managing IP and Spear’s Magazine. Furthermore, Ahmad’s expertise in the field has also secured him a ranking in Legal500, highlighting his prominence in intellectual property law.
