Biography
Ahmed is a Senior Associate in Al Tamimi’s Banking & Finance team. Ahmed joined the Dubai Banking & Finance team in 2014. He has over 16 years experience in the UAE.
Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, Ahmed worked for local and international banks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi before joining an international law firm in Dubai.
Ahmed specialises in the litigious matters of the banking sector. He also has particular expertise in the enforcement practice in the UAE.
Recent Experience
- Enforced a facility agreement for an offshore bank with security agency structure. The loan was AED381,000,000. Thirty-two mortgaged plots located in Dubai seized, enforced and all sold in the public auction successfully. This case considered a precedent before the Dubai Courts as to enforce thirty-two mortgage contracts in one application and on 2020; the case was featured in the Oath Magazine – Lexis Nexis.
- Represented a major international bank in the UAE in a foreclosure case. The loan was AED100,000,000. Four mortgaged plots located in Dubai and Dhabi and other guarantees secured the facility.
- Defended an international bank before all the Dubai Courts stages in a fraud case of USD2,000,000 (swim card swap/identity theft).
- Represented an Islamic bank in the UAE in a foreclosure case. The loan was AED100,000,000. One mortgaged plot located in Dubai and other guarantees secured the facility.
- Enforced a syndicate loan of AED100,000,000 between three national and international banks in the UAE secured by four mortgaged plots located in Dubai.
- Enforced a loan of AED500,000,000 on behalf of an international bank abroad with security agency structure and secured by eight mortgaged plots located in Dubai.
- Represented an off shore bank in a foreclosure case with security agency structure. The loan is AED73,000,000. One mortgaged plot located in Dubai and other guarantees secured the facility.
- Represented a major bank in the UAE. The loan was AED400,000,000. One mortgaged plot located in Dubai and other guarantees secured the facility.
- Represented an off shore bank in filing three payment order and recovered the claim mount of AED8,000,000.
- Enforcing a facility agreement with AED550,000,000. Twenty-one mortgaged plots located in Dubai and other guarantees securing the facility.
