Partner, Head of Corporate Structuring - Northern Emirates

Biography

Ali Bachrouch joined Al Tamimi & Company in 2007. He worked on developing various practices in the Emirate of Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, in general, and he is currently heading the Corporate Structuring – Northern Emirates, based from Sharjah.

He has over 20 of broad legal experience, having advised clients in respect of commercial matters, in respect of a variety of sectors, such as healthcare, energy, contracting and natural resources. Ali has been particularly involved in drafting and negotiating business formation and restructuring documentation and advising on corporate structuring issues. He leads matters that involve prominent parties, often with global presence.

Ali has lectured on Law and IT-related topics, at various universities in the UK and Lebanon. He has authored numerous publications in respect of his areas of expertise and has been a lecturer/ presented at numerous conferences and seminars, in the UAE and abroad.

Recent Experience

A leading Semi-governmental group in Sharjah on the restructuring options to cover expansion in technology, sustainable energy and healthcare projects, including the creation of the partnership structure and project company for one of the biggest Waste to Energy plant in the region, and advice on Landfill Site Operation and Management in relation to the largest recycling station in the Middle East and Gulf.
A leading healthcare group in UAE, and purpose a new approach for ownership structure applicable to all hospitals, medical centers, pharmacies and drug stores, with large business presence in federal emirates, including Ajman and Sharjah, and complete a sophisticated implementation with Ministry of Health & Protection and the relevant local authorities.
A government authority in Fujairah on the restructuring of media sector, including the drafting of the relevant agreements and transfer of assets, after the termination of concession.
A major investment group regarding a water desalination project in Umm Al Quwain, and assist in the whole process of creating the project company and obtaining the various approvals from the concerned authorities and departments, including the advice on the legal framework and the exemptions due to the participation of a governmental entity in the project.
A governmental entity in Ras Al Khaimah on the regulatory position and options for incorporation and licensing of appropriate corporate vehicles to hold participating interests and carry out petroleum activities.
International Oil & Gas groups on federal and local Petroleum regulations in UAE, including the legal framework in relation to trading licenses and temperory permits in various emirates.
