Dr. Omar is a Senior Counsel in the Litigation and Legislative Drafting practices. He has over 20 years of experience in litigation, legislative drafting and representing clients in the UAE.
He graduated in 1997 from Baghdad University and after intensive training with the Iraqi Bar Association, he joined a leading law firm in Baghdad and became a Licensed lawyer to appear before all Iraqi Courts in 2002.
Dr. Omar has been working in the UAE since 2002 as a Legal Consultant. Before joining Al Tamimi, he worked as a Legal Consultant for many companies, investors and group of holding companies in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Omar has extensive experience in the application of UAE legislation across all sectors, with particular experience in handling litigation matters relating to construction, real estate, and employment.
Dr. Omar also has experience in handling corporate commercial matters, including establishing and restructuring family companies, preparing memorandum of associations, shareholders agreements, and power of attorneys.
Dr. Omar has excellent research skills and spent many years as a Legal Researcher. He has published a number of books and research in comparative legal studies including Islamic Law. Dr. Omar received a “SCIENTIFIC EXCELLENCE” award form University of Sharjah for his doctoral study, and the thesis titled “Codification of Civil Transactions – A legal Study in Tort”.
Dr. Omar is a member of “Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal” in Abu Dhabi & Iraqi Bar.
