Biography

Lobna is qualified to practice law in Egypt. She has an extensive experience in international arbitration, having worked under the auspices of various rules, including ICC, CRCICA, UNCITRAL, DIFC-LCIA, AAA/ICDR, and ICSID. Lobna’s practice primarily focuses on commercial disputes involving interests in the Middle East and Africa and are subject to a diverse range of applicable laws, including those of Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab of Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Lobna also has advisory experience assisting clients in drafting and negotiating agreements, as well as in the settlement of disputes.

  • Representing a renowned oil and gas company in an Employment dispute before Egyptian courts. The claim was initiated by a senior management employee of the company.
  • Representing an Egyptian Agricultural company in a GAFTA arbitration brought by a Ukrainian grain supplier over the sale of strategic grain commodity.
  • Advising a construction company in ICC arbitration related to a concession agreement with an Iraqi governmental entity concerning a power plant project.
  • Advising a major F&B company in a social insurance dispute social insurance dispute valued at over EGP 300 million. The claims pertained to salaries social insurance and contractor’s office insurance.
  • Advising a Japanese governmental entity in pursuing outstanding payments from an Egyptian airline company under the Chicago Convention.
