Biography

Malavika is admitted as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England & Wales and is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team in Al Tamimi’s DIFC office. Since joining Al Tamimi & Company, Malavika has been involved in advising and representing clients in relation to a broad range of complex and high-profile commercial disputes,. She particularly focuses on general commercial litigation before the DIFC and ADGM Courts as well as commercial arbitrations before key arbitral institutions in the region.

Recent Experience

Acting for a multi-national family holding company in securing a worldwide freezing order before the DIFC Courts, in support of LCIA arbitration proceedings.
Acting for an Indian Bank in successfully defending a claim for breaches of regulatory duties and damages in the DIFC Courts.
Advising property developers in the DIFC in respect of numerous disputes with commercial tenants
Advising and acting on enforcement applications relating to the enforcement of onshore UAE Court, DIFC Courts, ADGM Courts and foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
Representing a venture capital fund and other shareholders in landmark proceedings before the ADGM Court of Appeal concerning the application of English law in the ADGM.
Advising and acting in relation to a wide range of employment disputes before the ADGM Courts.
