Biography

Malavika is admitted as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England & Wales and is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team in Al Tamimi’s DIFC office.  Since joining Al Tamimi & Company, Malavika has been involved in advising and representing clients in relation to a broad range of complex and high-profile commercial disputes,. She particularly focuses on general commercial litigation before the DIFC and ADGM Courts as well as commercial arbitrations before key arbitral institutions in the region.

Recent Experience

  • Acting for a multi-national family holding company in securing a worldwide freezing order before the DIFC Courts, in support of LCIA arbitration proceedings.
  • Acting for an Indian Bank in successfully defending a claim for breaches of regulatory duties and damages in the DIFC Courts.
  • Advising property developers in the DIFC in respect of numerous disputes with commercial tenants
  • Advising and acting on enforcement applications relating to the enforcement of onshore UAE Court, DIFC Courts, ADGM Courts and foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
  • Representing a venture capital fund and other shareholders in landmark proceedings before the ADGM Court of Appeal concerning the application of English law in the ADGM.
  • Advising and acting in relation to a wide range of employment disputes before the ADGM Courts.
