Marianna is admitted as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England & Wales and an associate in the Banking and Finance department of the Abu Dhabi office. Since joining Al Tamimi & Company, Marianna has been involved in wide areas of banking and finance in the UAE including bi-lateral and syndicated lending transactions, guarantee and security documentation. She particularly focuses on project and corporate finance as well as investment funds.

  • Advised lenders and sponsors in project finance and refinance deals, including Noor 2 Streetlighting Project, Mirfa 2 Reverse Osmosis Independent Water Project, Area 60 Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant, and the 900kpa Abu Dhabi Waste to Energy Project.
  • Advised Varys Capital Ventures (CEIC) Limited and FundRock Investment Management Services (ME) Ltd in connection with a master-feeder structure established as an early-stage, equity-focused venture fund with a mandate centered around blockchain innovation, Web3, and infrastructure.
  • Advised an Iraq-based client on the establishment of fund and investment vehicles in the ADGM, including preparation and negotiation of fund documentation.
  • Advised a Bahrain bank on fund formation in the DIFC, including a review of fund documents for the investment company structure and notification of the fund to the regulator.
  • Advised lenders in relation to a US$200,000,000 revolving credit facility to finance the acquisition of a hotel and nightlife business.
  • Acted for lenders and borrowers in relation to various finance deals, including advising Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank PJSC in relation to a trade finance facility made to OQ Trading Limited and advising ADQ in relation to a convertible term loan facility.
  • Assisted foreign financial services companies on their establishment in the Abu Dhabi Global Market.
