Tareq is a senior associate with the corporate commercial practice group. Tareq has robust corporate/commercial and project finance  experience in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Tareq has expensive experience advising on renewable and conventional power projects on both the sponsor and lender sides, having acted for leading international developers and international financial institutions on a number of leading power projects.

  • Advising a consortium of bidders in respect of the arrangement for the construction of a power transmission network and the construction of power generation facilities in connection with the establishment of a major public utility project.
  • Acting for leading project sponsor on the drafting and negotiation of project documentation for Jordan’s first mono-landfill project.
  • Advising leading multinational companies on several notable acquisition transactions including the acquisition of a leading renewable energy provider; a marine services concessionaire; and a big content and AI services provider.
  • Acting for the sponsors in connection with a 50 MW project financed by Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Mizuho Bank, Ltd. and Standard Chartered Bank, Tokyo Branch.
  • Acting for the sponsors in relation to the establishment of an 86.1 MW wind power project financed by DEG, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and PROPARCO in the Al- Rajef area of Jordan.
  • Acting for Bank of China, The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, The China Development Bank and China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure) in connection with the financing of an oil shale fired power plant to located in Attarat Um Ghudran deposit in central Jordan, the world’s first limited recourse financing of an oil shale project and Jordan’s largest public utility power generation project.
  • Advising multiple consortia of Sponsors in connection with their bids for the second round of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), managed by the Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO).
  • Advising a major multinational power transmission equipment manufacturer in connection with its asset acquisition of a market competitor in Saudi Arabia.
