Update from our Head of KSA, Philip Kotsis

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a vital part of Al Tamimi & Company’s vision, which is to be the leading law firm in the Middle East and North Africa. It is a key strategic jurisdiction for us, and is vital to our growth plans. Our existing footprint in Saudi Arabia spans three offices (in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar), and the firm’s commitment to the country is long term, and rooted in growing our presence and supporting the Saudi Vision 2030.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of our journey in the Kingdom, and look forward to working with our team on the ground. A vital part to our success is collaborating with each other to ensure we have integration and collaboration across our offices. This will be achieved by working closely with our partners and teams on the ground and operating within Saudi Arabia. To this end, it gives me great pleasure to further announce our newly appointed Heads of Office in Saudi Arabia, comprised of our long standing, and highly regarded Partners Grahame Nelson (Al Khobar), Emad Salameh (Riyadh), and Ahmed Basrawi (Jeddah).

We will be working as one team, united in delivering the firm’s full-service capability across Saudi Arabia. This means our clients have access to our full range of legal services, for example; M&A, corporate, competition law, digital and data, intellectual property, tax and dispute resolution, delivered by the best lawyers, knowledge and advice in the market. Working as a collective will also ensure we have the capacity to leverage our reach across the region that spans 17 offices in 10 countries.

As a firm we are ingrained into the Kingdom’s business, legal and regulatory landscape, and have developed an intrinsic understanding of Saudi processes and systems, that is second to none. This is aided by the long standing and excellent government relationships and local network we have built since we opened our first office in Riyadh, in 2008. 15 years later we continue to maintain and expand our network and ensure it is accessible when required.

As the largest law firm in Saudi Arabia, we are committed to being even better and strive for the success of our clients. We are proud to have some of the best lawyers in their area of expertise at the firm. As a priority we will continue to ensure local talent is supported and represented through our training programmes, and I look forward to seeing a diverse group of young Saudi lawyers joining our existing pool of talent across the offices in the Kingdom.
